Guilsfield is two miles only from Powis Castle and the market town of Welshpool. It is near to historic Chester, closer still to the Tudor/Jacobean town of Shrewsbury (birthplace of Charles Darwin), the County Town of Montgomery. The canoeing championship town of Llangollen and the book town of Hay-on-Wye are just pleasant drives away through wonderful scenery.

Famous for its hill-walking, mountain-bike trails, Offa's Dyke Path, Glyndwr's Way, quad-biking, lakes and canoeing, the area also offers excellent and challenging golf courses, modern leisure centres, bike rentals, horse-riding, hiking, fishing, picnicking and hang-gliding!

For the explorer, the area has so much to offer. There are centuries-old churches, local museums, antique shops, farms to pick your own fresh fruits, magnificent scenery and historic buildings such as Powis Castle.
