Gwaenynog Farmhouse B&B and Campsite

Gwaenynog is a beautiful stone farmhouse B&B in a peaceful area, ideally located for visiting Mid Wales. Nestled between the Berwyn and Cambrian Mountains, we’re only a mile from the River Vyrnwy and 9 miles from the enchanting and romantic Lake Vyrnwy; we’re surrounded by some of the most wonderful, scenic areas which are relatively untouched, and seldom visited.
We’re close to Welshpool, which is a country market town in Mid Wales and we are ideally situated for lovely walks along Glyndwr’s Way. There are many places of interest to visit, for example Welshpool and Llanfair Light Railway (one of the great little steam trains of Wales), Canal Boat trips to Llangollen, and the beautiful Powis Castle with its fantastic gardens and there are plenty of other gardens worth visiting.
Each of our bedrooms has its name taken from the local bird-life: Peregrine, which is our super-king (or it can split into a twin); Heron is the double; or there’s our 4 poster room which is Owl – which can also be the family room; all have en-suites with luxurious showers and extremely comfortable beds – all with varying views of the countryside around us. We hope we have thought of the little things which will make your stay with us just right.
Weddings at Gwaenynog – from 2015
Gwaenynog is licensed for weddings…
We can cater for small, intimate ceremonies in our guest lounge accommodating up to 25 people, or up to 250 guests in our barn, depending on the type of wedding you want. Our large stock barn is available for larger ceremonies, where you could then hold the entire event, making it all under one roof, or relocate to a marquee or tipi for the reception, either on our field or near the campsite – after the ceremony. The choice is yours.
Campsite
With 5 pitches for caravans, camper-vans and motor homes, with up to 3 electric points and space for up to 10 tents, you can relax and enjoy the peace and quiet that is synonymous with Gwaenynog. With a covered barbeque area, a shower, 2 toilets and washing-up facilities, plus we’re fully licensed to provide a selection of wine, beer & spirits for your enjoyment – what more could you want.
