The Golden Lion Hotel Llandysilio Powys

Welcome to The Golden Lion Hotel. Set in the beautiful Welsh countryside, on the famous Offa’s Dyke Path, we offer a quiet and relaxing break. We are the largest Hotel in the rural area between Welshpool in Powys and Oswestry in Shropshire.

Situated just off the A483 in the leafy countryside between Oswestry and Welshpool we are within easy driving distance of all the main routes. The Offa’s Dyke path runs right in front of the building so there’s no getting lost!

Owned and run by Karen and Rob Cook Williams the Hotel boasts large en-suite bedrooms, courtyard suites with their own garden / car park, holiday cottages, camping and caravanning with electric hook-up and shower room, fully licensed bar and restaurant, and there is even our music sales / shop within the grounds.

The couple bought the hotel in 2006.

Rob is a professional musician and has ran his music business, now called 'Golden Guitars' (to run alongside 'the Golden Lion') since the 1990’s

Karen is an excellent chef who grew up in the area, making a name for herself with versatile and local dishes, and using local produce where available.

We are a Real Ale bar, and stock local beers as well as the regular ales. No cream-flow! We also stock a good range of spirits and whiskies including the very popular Welsh Penderyn single malt and Brecon Gin.

All of our rooms are large and en-suite and are furnished to a very high standard throughout, with period features.
